snippets from english movies.

While viewing English movies on T.V. I came across two interesting conversation pieces. One about the gift for the christmas and other about the actions of idiots.

1. Gift for the christmas

He: Darling Christmas is around the corner. I would like to gift you some thing. what is it you want.
She: Get me Divorce.
He:Sorry dear. It is too expensive gift.

2. Idiots: Are those who try doing same thing expecting different results.

Jeevana

eka aneka

Man often wonders from where he came to where he goes. These questions have puzzled many. And many have given couple of satisfactory answers to them. The Vedantha school of thought has distinguished two identities to explain the above questions. One is Paramaatma, all pervading and the other is atma, the nonperishable soul in a perishable structure. What is this non perishable soul? Can it be seen? can it be felt?.....

To understand this cryptic statement, a simple simily or analogy can be given.

Nowe let us think that we are standing on a beach of a vast ocean. What do we see? We see many number of waves from the ocean are coming towards the beach and loose their energy and receedback to the waters of the ocean.

Here we can see that each wave is a part of the vast ocean. from ocean they come and sometime later they die down and merge with the waters of the ocean.

Somilarly. The soul in the man. which is non perishable, is a part of paramaathma, or a bundle of vast energy, like the ocean, strays on to this earth with a perishable body and gets back to merge with the bundle of energy or Paramaatma. Therefore the soul in every man is a part of Paramaatma or the Almighty and once it decides to get back to the place from where it came it simply goes back. This what we call as death. But death is not for the soul But for the body it was staying.

heegoo unte?

"Good Moning. Thursday tells you to be an ocean of patience to reach tough goals before you. Good day"

In indian phylosophy, very often the word Dharma is used. For any novice in phylosophy, the word gives rise to a question, What is it?
For any person the simple answer is, Dharma means LIVE AND LET LIVE. When we look into the creation of everything around us, the flore and fauna, the first question we should ask ourselves, Who and Why these animals, birds and the trees etc are created? The why aspect of the query is a question is difficult to answer. But for who created, The answer is universally accepted UNKNOWN POWER, The GOD. But our quest is know about dharma. But, Under creation, we, the human beings also are included.
The creation of lives, (jeevas) is too many to list. Broadly can be grouped into two categoties.
  1. Lives which are mobile
  2. Lives which are stationery.

The birds the animals and the human beings come under category 1. The trees and plants fall into category 2.The human beings,in the creation of God, have a unique place. they have a boon of communication, logic thinking and analytical mind. Probably, the unseen super power, which we personify and call GOD, has provided this infrastructurein human beings to represent him on this earth, to enforce the rule that all the living entities created by god are equal and have equal right to live peacefully on this earth. Thus "TO LIVE AND LET LIVE" is the main mantra. And following the path envisaged by this mantra,is one ofthe organs of Dharma.
Any violation to this mantra, leading to destruction and elimination of SANKULA of living entities, be it mobile or stationery, creates the path of adharma, which should be nipped in the bud by the representative of GOD, the man. The human. If he fails to take any action to destroy the path of Adharma and create an enviornment to follow the moola or main mantra of Dharma, then Dharma, without anyone taking care of it, will collapse. The great saying "dharmo rakshati, rakshataha" will cease to exist.
When such a situation,is created by the representative of god, He Himself should see that The dharma is established on this earth again. For this, he has take an avatara on this earth, and eleminate the elements who are resposible for the decline dharmic way of life and decease of Dharma.

What an explanation for the word, GOD.
This I learnt when hearing to a discourse on PURUSHA SOOKTA.
The letter 'G' stands for the word, Generator. Generate means create. creation. creation of physical objects we feel and see.
The letter 'O' means organiser. The birth and growth of all objects on this earth is controlled to follow a pre determined rule.
The letter 'D' means destroyer. This needs no elaboration.
So, there is on this earth, every matter, which we can perceive, undergoes the rule of birth, growth and death.
When all the three letters joined and pronounced in an organised manner, We find GOD emanating out.
Even in Indian phylosophy,we, many times utter the words srusti, stithi and laya. srusti means creation, stithi means the state of exixtence, which requires to be organised. Laya means destroy.

The learned

In one of my reading of Thiruppavai, I came across a snippet, which explains how a learned is tobe and is and will be.
The learned is compared to the paddy plant with the bunch of paddy. When the paddy is fully matured, and filled with essence of energy, the plant bows down. Likewise a fully learned also, when filled jnyna, bows down with humility, respecting other learned jnyanis.
what a comparison!. The essence of the above is that fully learned person will be more matured and humble without ego.

ga,gaa.gi.gI,gu,go.

What is this? just looks like spelling base in vernacular, Kannada. looks like that is true. but it says something also. it could be a group of words, linking to vaishnava philosophy. This I could realize when following a pravachana on viswaroopa darshana; this word is heard a number of times when either following Mahabharata or bavadgeetha.

What do the letter combination, ga,gaa,gi,gE, etc mean is the topic of the present context.
The first letter ga, means gange, the holy river of hindus.
The second letter gaa, means gaayathri,
The third is the first gireehsha, mountain god either shiva or venkateswara.
the forth,is gee, is geetha
next is gu, symbolises with guru, the teacher or acharya, the one who takes the pupil towards the spirutial goal.
The last is go, govinda, the lord himself, the ultimate goal to reach him to obtain sayujya.
The gist is the step by step path for the solvation of one's self. The Hindu philosophy believes in the rebirth. But if one wants to avoid rebirth, he should win over the bad qualities like anger, jealousy, greed, ego etc. So, most of the believers in our philosophy tries to achieve this goal.
Thus, the above combination of words, means that a subject who feels reach the god, Govinda, and merge with him should have a dip in ganga and chant gayatri daily, chant namo narayana or om namah shivaaya obtained through a guru or achaarya.
so, in simple words, rememberthis combination of words, and follow to achieve the spirutial goal.
